University of Sanya(USY) is a comprehensive private institution under Geely Education. Nestled in Sanya city, the only international tropical tourist destination, of Hainan Province, the University spans an expansive area of approximately 3,000 mu (about 500 acres). Its campus is graced by the iconic Luobi Cave Park, a site of ancient human cultural heritage, with the meandering Bailu(meaning egret) River adding to its scenic charm—a harmonious blend of cultural richness and natural beauty.

The University offers undergraduate and master’s degree programs across a wide range of disciplines, including law, literature, economics, management, engineering, science, agriculture, and education, encompassing nine major academic fields. Currently, it is home to around 25,000 students. More than just a campus, the University is a vibrant, self-contained community equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, providing comprehensive support for students and faculty in their academic, professional, and personal lives.

2026-2027 Academic Year Admissions Requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate Programs

1. Application Period & Submission

Applicants are required to submit all application documents to the International Department by May 1, 2026.

2. Eligibility Criteria

2.1 Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports and be in good health.

2.2 Applicants must not currently be enrolled in any undergraduate or graduate degree program at another university in China.

2.3For Undergraduate Programs: Applicants must be high school graduates (with a diploma) and under the age of 30.

2.4 For Graduate Programs: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent (comparable to a Chinese bachelor's degree) and be under the age of 45.

2.5All undergraduate and graduate programs at the University are taught in Chinese. Applicants must demonstrate the required level of Chinese proficiency by submitting valid supporting documents, such as HSK scores or other recognized Chinese language test certificates. HSK Level 4 is required for undergraduate programs, and HSK Level 5 for graduate programs.

3.Admission information

4. Dormitory Conditions

The University provides on-campus dormitories. Rooms are double-occupancy with a private bathroom. Each room is equipped with single beds (size: 90cm*200cm), desks, bookshelves, wardrobes, air conditioning, and an electric water heater. Bedding is not provided and must be purchased separately.

Cooking is not permitted in the dormitories. Students are not permitted to refuse sharing a room assigned by the University.

5.Application Documents & Requirements

Applicants are required to truthfully complete and submit the following materials:

5.1 Passport Copy: Scanned copy of the information page (JPG format). The image must be clear and show the complete page, including name, photo, date of birth, place of birth, date of issue, and date of expiry.

5.2 ID Photo: Recent digital passport-style photo with a white background (JPG format).

5.3 Highest Diploma & Academic Transcripts: Notarized highest degree certificate and academic transcripts. Documents not in Chinese or English must be attached with a notarized Chinese or English translation. Current students or employed applicants must additionally submit an official Certificate of Enrollment from their current school or an Employment Certificate from their employer, with non-Chinese/English versions also requiring a notarized translation.

5.4 HSK Certificate: HSK Level 4 or above score report obtained within the last two years.

5.5 Study Plan: A study plan in China (minimum 600 words), written in Chinese.

5.6 Foreigner Physical Examination Form & Health Certificate: The original or a copy of the form (printed by China's health quarantine authorities) along with all required attachment pages. The form must be valid (issued within the last 6 months).

5.7 Non-Criminal Record Certificate: A valid certificate. Documents not in Chinese or English must be attached with a notarized Chinese or English translation.

5.8 Recommendation Letters: Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the teachers or professors at your most recent educational institution, official seal and the contact email required.

5.9 Guarantee Letter for Affairs in China: This form must be completed by a direct family member, accompanied by a copy of their valid ID. To be completed in Chinese or English, with a handwritten signature.

5.10 University of Sanya Application Form for International Students (Choose ONE): To be completed in Chinese or English, with a handwritten signature.

6. Admission Notification and Visa Application Inquiry

6.1 Applicants may inquire about the application process and results via email.

6.2 The International Department will review applications. Qualified scholarship applicants will receive a Pre-admission Notice via email.

6.3 Visa Application: Upon receiving the official Admission Letter and JW202 Form by email, applicants should apply for a student visa (X visa) at the Chinese Embassy in their home country. Please confirm the arrival date with the International Department.

7. Registration

7.1 Admitted students must register on campus in early September 2026 as specified. Deferred registration requires prior email notification to the International Department for approval. Failure to register for more than two weeks after the deadline without approval will result in forfeiture of admission and any scholarship eligibility.

7.2 Procedures

Step1: Submit application materials.

Step2: (After review and all the materials meet the requirements) Receive the Pre-admission email.

Step3: The University processes the official visa documents (JW202).

Step4: The International Department emails the visa documents to the applicant. Step5: Apply for a student visa at the local Chinese Embassy/Consulate.

Step6:Register at USY at Sanya in September according to the date on the Admission Letter.

Step7: Within one week of arrival: Complete a medical examination, pay tuition and accommodation fees

Step 8: Purchase the international student insurance

Applicants must submit all required materials within the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be processed.
